Rajesh P.S. was born in 1978 in Kerala, India. He completed an advanced diploma in sculpture from Kala Bhavana at Viswa Bharati University, Santiniketen, and another diploma in sculpture from the College of Fine Arts, Thrissur, Kerala. The artist’s style of working can be categorized as deconstructive or assimilative. This young and talented artist is on a quest to understand and discover the world through his work. His works usually revolve around the experience and survival of human beings from the early ages, but in a philosophical context. His preferred media is sculpture and drawing. He usually works with wood, terracotta and other natural materials. Over the course of his career, he has been awarded several fellowships and scholarships including those from the Ministry of Human Resources, Government of India, and the Kanoria Centre for Arts in Ahmadabad. Rajesh lives and works in Baroda, Gujarat.
